Remember a few posts ago, I mentioned that I recently started reading during Sunday mass at my church? Well, yesterday, which was Palm Sunday, was finally again my turn to read and a GREAT opportunity for an outfit. Not to get carried away from fashion but I must say, reading at church makes me so immensely happy! I know its “just” reading to some but to me, it’s more than that. It’s an opportunity to share God’s fruitful word, feed my own faith and to share HOPE to everyone sitting in those pews looking for new light & change in their lives! It’s a blessing to be able to have this experience. With that said, let’s move on to my outfit adventure..!
Every Sunday, I attend mass with my family and every Sunday, it’s an opportunity to pull out my best attire, throw on some heels and embrace simple-chic! Yesterday was no exception. I went with a very basic, conservative and polished look. This outfit of the day is what I like to call, “match-up”.
About a month back, I came across these pants and…you know the drill, I LOVED them! What don’t I love right? Anyway, these pair of pants are nothing I own in my closet and I knew it was a beautiful pair to own for Sunday mass or a lunch-date during the summer walking around shops on 3rd street Promenade. Ditching the heels and switching to camel sandals of course. Perhaps a fedora too? Beachy-fab!
Keeping in mind that I would be in church, I didn’t want to wear anything that brought more attention to my clothes than the readings. Which is why I wanted to go with a basic white blouse for these print pants. However, I got lucky because I came across this top a few days ago and I knew it would be the perfect match for these pants. It’s exactly what I wanted, versatile, basic but the navy blue trim was the perfect touch of sophistication and personality that it needed.
The look and colors were very neutral despite the amount of print these slacks had. I wish you guys could touch them, they’re so silky soft and EXTREMELY comfy. I threw on these go-to single sole heels that never fail me to help elongate my legs and add femininity to my pink toes.
I threw on this white linen blazer (you will see this blazer more & more as the seasons progress) to add more sophistication. Although I hate how easily linen wrinkles, It’s seriously a must have piece. Especially for Summer weather. To finish the look, I threw on a few “gold” pieces. Some of my favorites to be exact!
Hope you ladies enjoyed this post and I apologize about the hair! It never seems to look as pretty in pictures as it does in person…Booo! Waaa!!! haha But I promise, I will work on that. Anyway, it’s the start of Holy Week for some of us, so if you’re Catholic & Christian, may you have a WONDERFUL Holy Week. Stay away from all negative and use this week to take initiative to change your life. Seek to be better and let go of all judgements & hatred. LET GO & LET GOD! You won’t regret it! For the rest of you ladies, may you have a BLESSED week! Tootles my lovies!

Tried to be a little clever with the name of my post today…Hope you guys caught that. After all, I did wear olive slacks with a pair of my newest obsession & style of shoes, peep toe mules!
For yesterday’s outfit of the day, I wanted to wear something lightweight and feminine. What’s more feminine than crochet-lace right? I decided to re-wear my ‘oh so sexy-chic’ lace top that I wore in one of my V-day outfit ideas. I’ve gotten a ridiculous amount of compliments for this top. It’s so comfy, lightweight, romantic & sexy. I love that I can dress this top up or down without loosing some elegance.
For this look, I wanted to embrace neutral colors which is why I complimented the ivory top with these olive slacks. I bought these pants over a year ago, or more, at a local warehouse here in Downtown L.A. It’s one of my favorite spots because they carry a lot of Forever 21 closeout items for more than half the price. I score these babies for just $5 bucks. BRAND NEW! A STEAL DEAL!!!
To finish off the look, I decided to bring out my new style obsession in shoes…MULES! This is my very first pair that I own and I’m in COMFORT LOVE!!! They are ridiculously comfy, cute and versatile. I’m so happy with this purchase because they don’t look cheap and I found them at a reasonable, affordable price. They are part of Forever 21 current spring collection essentials, found HERE. Definitely won’t be my only pair. I’m already on a hunt for another pair :))
Well my lovely ladies! I hope you enjoyed this post. I kept it sweet & short because I’m currently on my lunch break. It is BLAZING hot today in L.A. So far it’s been a GREAT day! Hope yours is too wherever you may be! HAPPY MONDAY LADIES!!! :)

Hi Lovelies! It’s been quite a while since my last post. So much has been going on that I’ve hardly had any time for myself. I’m on a “school, work, church, family and business” kind of schedule. It’s been a good productive couple of months. I can’t complain. I’m BLESSED! Anyway, the last time I posted, we were still on a Winter time frame and now…we’ve welcome a new beautiful season, Spring! Yes ladies! It’s time to bring out the florals, the colors and the sandals!! So excited to show you guys all the outfits I have in store. So let’s begin with a little Spring Blues… <3
During the Spring season, we are accustomed to see a lot of floral prints. The more the merrier. Personally, I am a HUGE flower lover. You can call me “flower child”. I ADORE them. Flowers make me oh so happy and whenever I receive them, it makes me feel BEYOND beautiful & special. So if you ever want to gift me something, FLOWERS! They will never fail to make me happy and feel loved!
For yesterday’s outfit of the day, the weather in Los Angeles was BEYOND beautiful. It was warm with a slight breeze. The skies were blue and the sun shining down brightly. It was the perfect excuse to bring out this dress. The floral print made me think of Summer in Hawaii (not that I’ve ever been) BUT, I knew it was a good choice to make a spring statement.
This dress became an instant must have, not only because navy is a newly found favorite color, but also because of the deep V-cut. When it comes to skater dresses and other dresses with some sort of flare, its inevitable for me not to look like I’m 15 years old. So when I saw that the dress had a V-cut, I knew it would add an “oomph” that said, “Hello Twenty-Something year old”. In other words, I am a grown woman.
The floral on this dress (peonies) are a huge statement that I definitely did not want to throw on crazy accessories (not that I ever do). Just a few simple gold rings, a couple bracelets to avoid the word “bare” and of course, a linen blazer to polish the look. Clearly, for a relaxing day like it was yesterday in L.A., I wanted to ditch the heels/wedges. I kept the relaxed look and threw on my pair of white chucks. Who said girls can’t wear dresses with sneakers!
So there you have my Sunny day in L.A. outfit post. I’ve missed writing and posting for your guys so much! Tomorrow is the first day of April and I can’t wait to show you ladies all of my outfit adventures. Until next time my lovelies…oh and for all you ladies who have been faithful followers, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I humbly appreciate all the positive feedback! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Nothing makes me happier than to be able to help you guys with my ideas and share my style into your wardrobe.

It’s that time of the year again, well if you’re Catholic anyway. It’s Lent, better known as 40 days to “give up” a pleasure or habit. Nonetheless, I want to clarify as to what Lent is meant to be or at least to me. Everyone who participates during lent, Catholic or not (I don’t understand why you would partake in lent if you’re not Catholic haha but its okay) for 40 days and 40 nights gives up something to what we call “bettering ourselves”. HOWEVER, lent is a time of reflection. It is a time period where, for 40 days, you acknowledge and look for a new way to approach life as a whole.
Hi ladies!!! I’m back and this post comes with a story…don’t they all? Now, this story isn’t Disney’s Peter Pan but, there is a peter-pan! A few months ago, I was attending mass with my family when a lady came up to me and asked if I knew how to read in Spanish. I said yes and of course, she asked me if I would like to volunteer to read to the children, while they’re parents listened to the Gospel in church. Long story short, a few weeks later, a different lady heard me reading to the kids and asked if I wanted to volunteer to start reading during an actual mass. In other words, inside the church, in front of 100+ people and on a microphone. I was nervous and scared to say yes but something inside me wanted to do it so badly. I felt like it was a calling from God to strengthen my faith. After weeks of practice and bible study meetings, yesterday was finally the big day and I needed something to wear! Say hello to my latest fashion post, Peter Pan Peplum.
-Peter-Pan Peplum top found at Ross
-Harem slacks from Steve Madden
-Heels from Go Jane
When it comes to fashion in church, I do my best to dress respectfully of others and more importantly God. Now, this doesn’t meant that I become or try to pretend to be something I’m not because everything I wear, I do so with confidence and because I like it. My style is very eclectic. Universal. I don’t always stick to a certain look. I like to go from chic, to street, to sexy and feminine. It’s so much fun for me to experiment with new things and even better when I like it.
For yesterday’s look, since I would be reading in front of an audience in the altar, I wanted to make sure my outfit was conservative without loosing femininity. I didn’t want to go out and buy an outfit. So I browsed my closet and came across this peplum top. I think I’ve worn this top once in my life and I thought it was the perfect excuse to bring it out and style it. For this day, I knew I wanted to wear slacks and so I chose to re-wear my only and favorite black slacks from Steve Madden. These are ridiculously comfortable and they’re a go-to staple piece when I don’t know what to wear but I don’t feel like looking so under-dressed. I purposely chose the two to pair together because I wanted to give the illusion that it was a peplum jumpsuit. Hit or miss? I think I nailed it.
To finish off the look, I went with classic ivory single sole heels. They were perfect to compliment the belt around my waist and of course the peter-pan collar on my top. I loved it. I felt so lady-like and chic in this outfit. I only accessorized with a belt and of course a cross-gold bracelet that my co-worker gifted me on my birthday last year. I did add a blazer to polish the look even more but I forgot to capture it in pictures because it was a tad bit hot outside. (Sorry!)
So there you have it my darlings. Hopefully this post help demonstrate that just because you’re going to church you don’t have to under-dress or even dress in something you don’t like. You can still look FAB and fashionable! …and if you’re wondering how I did with my reading…IT WAS GREAT! I received a lot of positive feedback after mass and I’m really, REALLY happy! Definitely can’t wait to do it again! Night night loves! See ya’ll on Wednesday’s Outfit Adventure!

…And just like that, Valentines Day 2014 flew right before our eyes. Hope you all had a very BEAUTIFUL Valentines Day. Whether you spent it with your family, your girls, your children or that special someone in your life…I hope it was one where loving memories where made :) Today I bring you a late post. This was the outfit I chose to wear the day I stopped by my boyfriend’s house to surprise him and ask him to be my Valentine. Which by the way, he said, “YES!” *raises hands in the air*
-Denim Overalls gift from a Friend (Thanks Delia♥ )
-Lace top from Fashion Street LA (Coming Soon)
-Heels from Go Jane
For this outfit of the day, I was inspired by one of my co-workers whom I have learned an incredible amount of mixing & matching (Thanks Sunny!) She actually was the one who influenced this outfit of the day when I saw her dressing one of our mannequins a few weeks ago. Thanks to her, this turned out to be the perfect casual-romantic look for a day out. This lace top is soooo BEAUTIFUL! It embraces romance in every way. The turtle neck details and exposed back is absolutely sexy without being so provocative.
Growing up I remember having a pair of ‘Tweety Bird’ overalls and I must say, they were one of my favorite. A few months back, a coworker & friend told me she wanted to give me a pair of overalls that no longer fit her and she thought they would be perfect for me to own. When she gave them to me, I totally fell in love. I know the “oversize” trend is in right now, even in overalls but I actually liked these a lot because they were fitted. The tight fit was great for a polished casual look.
So there you have the latest look. For all you ladies who are afraid to try new things and experiment with different styles/trends…DON’T BE! Trying new things, missing and failing are the keys to success in anything you do in life. Sometimes you need to try, try and TRY to find your niche, even in fashion. So, NEVER be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
HAVE A HAPPY SUNDAY LOVIES!!!

Three years ago, I started a Valentines Day tradition for my boyfriend which was, “How to ask him out to be my Valentine.” Clearly, my boyfriend is…well… my BOYFRIEND!! It’s dead obvious that he would AND will be my valentine but those of you who know me, know that I am an utter sucker for romance. Therefore I started thinking of romantic ideas to ask him, surprise him and more importantly show him how special he is to me. Now, now! I know many of you girls are thinking…”Girrrrl! He should be doing the romance, the buttering up & surprising!” Although I must admit that I do melt over a surprise gift of roses and chocolates, I also enjoy catering to my man with romance. I personally know how good it feels to be surprised and well, I wanted him to feel the exact same way. Besides, it feels so good to see him smile and even hear his happy voice. Let’s not forget the Thank you kisses! Yum! Making him happy is my own guilty pleasure. It’s definitely the big ol’ L-O-V-E taking a toll. So without further ado, I leave you ladies with this year’s last minute ideas to surprise your very own honey.
Here’s what you’ll need to re-create TWO simple but thoughtful & loving ideas that your special someone will not resist ♥
By far, my favorite surprise to date!!! He absolutely loved everything. I must say, for the past 3 years, my surprises have gotten better for him and honestly, I already have next year’s idea planned out! CAN’T WAIT!
The first idea is very simple. You will need rose petals, real or fake. I was actually on my way to a flower shop to purchase rose petals when I decided to first make a stop at my local Rite Aid to purchase the Hershey’s kisses. Which, thank goodness I did because there I came across boxes of artificial rose petals. Each box was $3 and contained 80 petals. Personally, I thought it was better because they’re totally reusable and would make great decor later on. Not only that, the rose petals were also scented! I thought that was pretty neat.
This idea is for the girl who wants to surprise her hubby, boyfriend or special someone, while he is at school, work, at the gym or running an errand. I used this idea a long time ago on my boyfriend while he was at work. However, I just did it as a “Thinking of You” gesture. I spelled out with the Hersheys kisses “I LOVE YOU” and put a little side note on his windshield that read, “Just stopped by to drop off some Kisses!” Get it? ;) However, for the sake of Valentines Day, you can spell out “Be Mine” with rose petals and then decorate with chocolate Hershey’s kisses to represent real “kisses” on your behalf. Cute, no?! It’s as easy as that. Inexpensive, thoughtful and ROMANTIC! HE WILL LOVE IT!
Now for my second and final idea, which I actually did this year, I decided to make a quick drop off at my boyfriends house. In the past I’ve done a puzzle for him to put together, I’ve mailed him a whole postal set asking him to be mine and last year, I even asked him to be mine through a fortune cookie. There’s no doubt that my boyfriend was expecting to be surprised this year. I wanted to do something bold and hopefully catch him off guard. I even went so far as to tell him that I wasn’t planning a single thing this year because I didn’t have time or money. Mind you, V-day was just a week away. Little did he know that all that gibberish was part of the plan to distract him.
For this year’s “Be Mine” idea, I purchased 14 balloons to represent February 14, Valentines Day (duh!) but you can totally do less or even more. Anyway, days before I had pre-ordered 14 of my favorite pictures of us as a couple at my local Rite Aid. Those pictures would then be attached at the bottom strings of those 14 balloons. Don’t worry my dears, most local pharmacy’s have a 1-hour ready photo pick-up for you to make this a last minute surprise. Moving on…Initially I wanted to surprise my boyfriend outside his house…BUT!!! To my surprise, he was out working. Which turned out to be better for me because I was able to surprise him in his room. So on his bed I spelled out “Be Mine?” and used the left over petals to decorate his bed. I added Hershey’s kisses to represent kisses. Voila! A very easy, affordable and ROMANTICAL Valentine’s Day surprise! You’ll have his heart melting and saying YES in no time :)
Below I leave you with the surprises of the past 3 years… A puzzle, a package in the mail and last but not least, a custom order of a GIANT fortune cookie with a GIANT fortune note found HERE :)
So there you have it my lovies! Hopefully you feel inspired to do something for your special someone. Remember: CHIVALRY ISN’T DEAD and you don’t need a lot of money, or any for that matter to make LOVE come alive!!!! Girls can do anything boys can do and we most certainly CAN do romance. Once in awhile, it’s fun to turn the tables and show them how amazing it feels to be loved and be surprised! Happy Planning!
Whoever believes Valentines Day is strictly for couples & lovers..you are 100% wrong! This fashion post goes out to all the sexy single ladies who think that they can’t celebrate V-day because they don’t have that special someone. Girrrrrl! I’m talking to YOU!!! After you read this post, get ready for a night-out in your city to simply celebrate LOVE. Call up your girlfriends, slip into a little black single piece, throw on some killer heels, glam up and get ready to dance the night away!
You know how they say that the “L.B.D.” never fails. Well, guess what?! BLACK never fails. Plain & simple. For this look, I went with this black jumpsuit because it’s basic, easy to style and it has the perfect amount of sex appeal for a night out! I LOVE IT. It’s ideal for a club or even a romantic evening with your love. From the deep V cut to the halter open back, I promise you, this ensemble is a neck breaker! It’s the perfect single piece you need to feel sexy.
If you follow my blog, you know that I’m very minimal when it comes to accessories. This look pretty much proves that. My main focus for this look when it comes to my accessories is the coveted “Dust Rose” color that I’ve been obsessing over this winter. It’s such a pretty color. It totally helps bring out class and femininity in this outfit. Besides, if you do get inspired to wear something like this to the club, you really don’t want to feel like you’re carrying 20 million pounds of things. Killer shoes and a studded clutch to compliment each other is enough to make a statement. I threw on a few studded bracelets just to add edge and compliment the studs on the clutch.
[P.S. For those ladies who like jewelry, a thin gold body chain would look super HOT!!!]
There you have look #3 of my Valentines Day Special. Even though I am NOT single, I strongly believe that love can be found everywhere and in anyone. Valentines Day isn’t just for couples. Not at all! So ladies, don’t even worry! You can have just as much fun on V-day like anyone else. Go out. Enjoy life! Embrace and get to know yourself better. Don’t rush love. As cliché as it may sound, the best kind of love comes knocking at your door when you least expect it. I am living proof of that because now, I have such a wonderful, loving, funny, smart and amazing guy to love. What’s more ideal as having your best friend become the love of your life? :) So…Stay focus on making memories, working hard, chasing your dreams, enjoying your family and taking every risk/opportunity that may come at your feet for a chance to become a better YOU :)
Until next time girlies!!! I’m going to try to squeeze in one last V-day look before the big day. See you on our next outfit adventure <3

…And so the countdown continues. Valentines Day is exactly 19 days away. Oh the excitement!!! It’s just enough time to mix and match outfits. This year, V-Day falls on a Friday and like any other girl, I’m stuck at work. Grant it, I do retail and thanks to that, I get to dress and express myself however I want. Nonetheless, I know there are some ladies who work in offices and well, this post is for those ladies who THINK that they can’t dress in the spirit of love because they have to be in slacks and a dressy “boring” top. WRONG! Office attire is the perfect wardrobe to embrace sleek, chic and SEXY! So here’s inspiration #2 of my Valentine’s Day Special, for all the hard-working mamacitas who are stuck in offices full of men in suits. Remember ladies:
"You have to enjoy being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants." ♥
Bubbles Boutique Peter Pan Collar top.
Steve Madden High-waist slacks.
Go Jane Single Sole heels.
Although I’ve never personally worked in an office environment, I do happen to know that dress code is strictly enforced because not only do you represent the company you work for but you also represent yourself as a woman. The amount of skin you expose has got to be minimal if not, NOT be shown AT ALL. So please keep in mind that this is an inspiration. For this look, I was going for a formal yet trendy outfit.
I chose this peter pan collared top because it’s so freakin’ cute. I’ve had it for about 2 years now and have only worn it once. Although it looks very “kiddy”, the chiffon fabric allowed me to embrace a little sex-appeal. Chiffon is a very sheer fabric and you can basically see right through it. To avoid showing off a regular bra, I went for this sweet-heart lace crop bra underneath my top. It was the perfect accent to bring out femininity, sensuality and keep me covered up. The top is pretty basic however, the open sneak-peek back had me sold. It was such a cute “oomph” to make someone take a second look.
Because this V-day outfit is to inspire those ladies who work in an office, I could not skip out on the opportunity to bring out my FAVORITE slacks. These babies are not only comfy but they’re so stylish. They have this whole harem style going on that I love because it keeps me looking trendy without loosing that sophistication. To finish of the look, I went for my typical & basic black heels. I love these. So simple but they bring out such a polished look. Gosh! I LOVE THEM! For accessories, just a basic black purse to keep that whole office theme and 4 gold bracelets.
Now, I know a leather biker jacket isn’t office-wear appropriate but this is actually an idea to wear the minute you’re off the clock. Remember, V-Day WILL fall on a Friday…T.G.I.F.!!!! So ditch the blazer!!! Single or taken, sooner or later work ends and you have got to out to the town to enjoy a few drinks with your girls or grab a late dinner out with your hubby. Either way, a leather jacket will make your work attire look more simple, clean, casual and appropriate for a night out.
Well there you have look #2! Hope it helps and remember, whatever you wear, wear it with confidence. You might not be able to wear chiffon at an office because it obviously shows off too much but you can definitely find a peter-pan collar top with a thicker fabric and rock this look. Have a lovely week my lovies! I’ll be back Wednesday with another post :)

With the start of the new year, I’ve tried to make some changes into my life. So far so good. This is why I’ve lagged posts on my blog. I apologize for that but to make up for it, I’ve decided to prep you up with a few ideas for one of the most loving days of the year…February 14, Valentine’s Day!
Bubbles Boutique Striped sweater top & jeans for $10
Ross crossbody bow purse
Lola Shoetique “Dirty Talk” heels
If you know me personally, you know that I am a huge, HUGE..Hopeless Romantic. I love believing and trusting that LOVE truly is the cure of anything and everything. That without love, life has no meaning. We learn nothing without love and would never experience the greatest feelings of all. I have to admit, LOVE is my greatest strength but it’s also a weakness. That’s the thrill of love…it’s full of SURPRISES. With every surprise there’s joy and possible pain. But look at the bright side, pain is gain to be better. To gain new lessons. To learn and take advantage of appreciating the little things that surround us in life. So with that said, let’s move on to my first look of LOVE: A Valentines Day Special. Shall we?
Valentines Day, whether you’re single or in a relationship, for most girls means dressing up in the name of LOVE. I know I’m not the only one who thinks like that. So here’s a very casual idea with a tad bit of sexy-ness. This outfit was actually inspired by the infamous “Where’s Waldo?” books that I use to obsessed over as a kid. I clearly remember my mom taking me to the library and a “Where’s Waldo?” book would always come back home with me. I thought it was a perfect outfit ensemble for those ladies who love looking for love in books, movies, people, family and friends.
This outfit has been one of my favorites thus far because it’s chic & comfortable. It’s perfect for a lunch date with your girlfriends or a movie night with your special someone. Needless to say, you don’t have to worry about the tight dresses and the fancy hair-do’s. For accessories, I decided to go with gold accessories laying two different necklaces together that i bought in DTLA alleys for $1 each. The bracelets were from H&M just to add some “arm candy”. Lastly, I really didn’t want to be carrying around my usual black & heavy purse. So to keep the look casual, I just threw on this cross-body purse that I hardly ever use. I thought it would just be a cute little element on the side.
My favorite thing about this whole look has got to be my shoes…No surprise there, right? :) The day I saw these shoes online and in my size, I knew I had to get them. It was a steal or I was about to miss out on a great deal. It was the perfect touch to spice up the outfit. I’m so in love and I know I say that about all my shoes but I really do love all my shoes. I’m a shoe lover. It’s my weakness and my greatest pleasure because they always fit…as long as it’s my size :)
Well there you have look #1. Hope you guys like this casual and super effortless look. Remember, casual doesn’t mean bumming. You can still look good without having to jeopardize your comfort. Till next time my lovies. Have a good night and a beautiful week.

HAPPY NEW YEAR GIRLIES!!! :) I can’t believe we finally welcomed 2014. It’s so exciting to start a new year! It just feels like a fresh new start. A clean slate to fight any battles life may throw and enjoy all the new possible memories. I can’t wait. Like all other years, I didn’t make a resolution list but I did however, tell myself that this year I was going to make drastic changes to my life. I want to make changes in every way possible so that by the end of 2014, I have something to show for it and for my own pleasure, feel like I took advantage of every single open & closed opportunity. If God permits, this year will be life changing! So, don’t worry if you don’t have a list…changes can occur at any given time, the moment YOU decide your life needs a change. So take advantage NOW and chase after your dreams. Reach for your goals and grant all your hearts desires.
So this post is going up a little late but HEY! Better late than never…right? :) When it comes to New Year’s Eve, I have that day reserved for my boyfriend. We usually go up to Palmdale, CA and await for the new year with his family. It’s always fun to go up there and share new memories with them. Their honestly the very BIG family I never had, aside from my small family of 6, my dog Prince included :) So anyways, this New Year, we went up to Palmdale and for those who aren’t familiar with L.A. weather and Palmdale weather, let me tell you. Despite it being about an hour & a half drive, the weather change is drastically different. It’s so cold up there during the winter, at least for me. It’s usually about 20 degrees lower and that to me, is a HUGE difference. This is why, I opted for a more comfy, warm outfit without having to loose the sparkle this New Year’s Eve.
I was a little hesitant to make this post because the top that I’m wearing looks very “boring” and just ordinary. However, it’s far from that. This knit sweater-top is actually very detailed in sequins and it even has a pocket on my left side. It has a very oversized, slouchy look that I love because I can dress it up or down for any occasion without loosing the pretty look. The top shines so beautifully in the sun and it looks gorgeous on. It has the perfect amount of sparkle for a New Year’s family gathering. Not only do you stay warm but you shine enough to avoid loosing the N.Y.E. spirit. In the picture below, the boyfriend was able to capture some of the sequins. Can you see the camouflaging pocket?
To keep that “eye-catching” look, I avoided jeans & dress pants and opted for my faux leather pants…AGAIN! I know, I know. I seriously need to give these pants a break but man!!! That’s how obsessed I am with them. They are my Go-To’s and life savers. They keep any outfit looking trendy, chic, edgy and sexy!
As for shoes, well I just knew I wanted to wear black lady pumps. These were perfect to finish of the look. I avoided all accessories this time and let my outfit do all the talking.
Hope you ladies enjoyed this post and remember, change is good. So break free from all that is negative, do good things for the world, feed your faith, encourage everyone with positivity, love your parents, love YOURSELF, help, create and progress by making all your dreams come true. Life will never be easy but it does get better with time, hard-work, effort and true love. Blessings my darlings…and again, HAPPY 2014! May God Bless you.

Although a lot of people are already taking down their trees and decor, Christmas isn’t over for me. I have a little less than two-weeks left and within those two-weeks, we finally welcome a brand new year, 2014! I haven’t quite decided what I will wear but I thought I might as well post one or two little ensembles for you to get inspiration. For the first look, I went for a very sassy look. Enjoy! :)
When it comes to New Year’s, I instantly think glitz & glam! Sexy and sophisticated. Classy and sassy! I think this dress did just that. Though it might lack the sparkle, the faux leather material adds the perfect edge to embrace sexiness. I actually bought this dress a few months ago for my birthday but didn’t end up wearing it because it was such a cold night. However, I think this is such a perfect little dress for a New Year’s dinner party!
Although it’s true that a little black dress NEVER fails to work magic under any circumstance, it’s nice to break out of the fashion norms and go for something a little more edgy and with more detail. At first I was hesitant to buy the dress because I thought it looked a little cheap but once I tried it on, it was a whole different story. I love that this skater dress combined lace and faux leather together. The two compliment each other nicely.
One of my favorite things about the dress was the low neckline and the padded bust. So don’t worry ladies, you can totally rock this dress without a bra. For a girl like me who doesn’t have a lot of curves and cleavage, this dress was perfect because it made me feel like I did have those things. It gave me that nice “oomph” to feel super sexy without being overly provocative. I also loved the giant peep-hole open back. I kept the accessories very minimal due to all the lace detailing. I didn’t want to add a necklace to avoid a clash…even if it was a simple dainty piece. I did however added dangling earrings that I failed to expose and a few bracelets to avoid complete bare arms.
To end my first N.Y.E. look, I finished off with these heels that haven’t failed me. They have been my first choice for a lot of outfits and have done justice. These are keepers. So there you have it. Like I said, this little lace dress is perfect for a dinner night. You will embrace both your elegance and sexiness. Don’t forget to grab your favorite black coat and clutch to finish off the look. Happy soon to be New Year! Blessings!! Xo- M

GOOOOOOOOOD MORRRRRNIIIING!!! :) Woke up in an EXTRA good mood today with beautiful Cali weather. I seriously can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve tomorrow. I’m so excited!! My mom and I will be making traditional Mexican tamales, pozole and champurrado. I can’t wait. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and I love it even more because we attend mass at 12-midnight and let me just say…it’s BEAUTIFUL! The music, the warm environment, the festive lights..it all becomes so perfect to welcome the greatest gift of them all, baby Jesus! Anyway, you’re not here to read about that so let’s just get to the BASIC point.
If you follow other fashion blogs, you know you ALWAYS come across the same ol’ terms like: Statement, Staple, Basics, L.B.D., On-Trend, Chic..and the list can go on for days. The meaning is always the same, but of course, the item of choice to represent that meaning varies for us all. Which brings me to my outfit of the day ensemble. I can officially take the liberty of recommending my “Must-Have ‘Basic’ Staple Pieces” for 365 days. Not these particular pieces I have on because we all have different tastes but simply the fabric itself: Faux leather, Knits, Denim “Chambray” and SNEAKERS!
Combined together or apart, you can see that these pieces compliment each other perfectly and throughout my blog, you have seen how consistently I’ve used each one. Again, not always the same piece or style but the fabric itself has become the basic fashion statement. Now, I call them “basic” because even though they’re very eye-catching, they’re so easy and “simple” to wear on a daily basis.
When I purchased this skirt, I knew exactly how I wanted to wear it and I must say, I loved how much I was able to modernize the term “preppy”. From attending mass to holiday shopping in the overpopulated malls and spiderweb parking lots, this ensemble allowed me to look on-trend without jeopardizing comfort. Yay!!! Trust me, I ADORE heels because I love feeling sexy and sophisticated…but I’ve been wearing sneakers since I was young. I was the queen of black & white converse. They never failed and they still don’t :)
Well, hopefully this post has been a little inspiration to jot down a few ideas on what to purchase for the upcoming year! Wish you all a very LOVING & HAPPY CHRISTMAS. Remember: Fashion changes everyday and there are new growing rules every minute, it seems like. However, the best thing you can truly wear is your smile through any weather. It expresses who you truly are through the storms and the minute the light shines through those cloudy days. So don’t cry and pout if this Christmas you don’t get your Chanel purse or your Gucci shoes. As long as you’re breathing, life is truly more precious than any replaceable material thing. MERRY CHRISTMAS MIS AMORES! Feliz Navidad! May God bless you all. Xo-M

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you might have seen a “sneak peek” post of an OOTD that I decided to wear on my trip to Disneyland with my boyfriend. After 5 years of being together, we FINALLY made it possible to go to Disneyland for the very first time TOGETHER. So here’s my second Holiday inspired look if you decide you want to be a little more dressed down and casual, without loosing the Christmas spirit!
I was about to have a super, duper long day with a very cold night at the happiest place on earth and obviously I needed to wear something comfy and warm. That’s why I decide to bring out this plaid flannel. Besides the fact that flannels are generally super warm, I love that it was in the classic red color, which reminds me of Santa Claus. It was the perfect print, color and style to compliment this sweater.
I bought this striped sweater at a local Goodwill in Hollywood. Like a million other Angelinos, I love to thrift shop and I really don’t mind owning used clothing…except shoes and personal stuff like undies & bras! (DUH!) That I am totally iffy about because of hygiene, but that’s just me! Anyway, back to the sweater! I found this sweater for five dollars! FIVE DOLLARS!!!! You guys, I’ve seriously worn this thing like crazy. It’s a perfect throw on with leggings and boots. When I found it, it had a bunch of crazy prints that I liked because it was different and because it looked old school. However, when I got home to wash it, I flipped it inside out and loved it even more because it had this thin striped print. So I decided to make it a reversible sweater :) I’ve received so many compliments for this sweater thus far, which only proves to me that it was $5 well spent. I understand thrift shopping isn’t for everyone but you should at least try it sometime. You know what they say, one man’s trash, is another one’s treasure. You never know what unique and affordable pieces you can find!
I decided to pair my top choices with my infamous “Lady Leatherette” faux leather pants mentioned in my last post. Didn’t I warn you that you would see them featured here again?! It probably won’t be the last. You’ve been warned…again! I just can’t get enough. They are my go-to pants that compliment every outfit I have in mind. To finish off the look and give it the most important casual piece of them all, I had to wear sneakers. What better choice, than Jordans to keep that trendy look alive. Of course, white chucks (Converse) would have been another ideal choice. I just happened to LOVE these.
Before I end this post, let me just say one GREAT thing about this entire outfit ensemble… YOU DON’T HAVE TO WEAR SNEAKERS!!! If you’re a girl that doesn’t really like wearing sneakers or isn’t used to wearing them, don’t worry. Heels are the cure. This outfit looks great with heels and even more feminine. Like I said, just simply ditch the sneakers and throw on your favorite blacks heels. I wore sneakers because I liked the combination and because I was spending my day at Disneyland. Well, there ya’ have it! Stay tune for tomorrow’s Holiday look. It’s a sexy feminine post! Blessings & Besitos!! Xo-M
